1.Acceptance of Terms
By accessing or using SplitWise — including registering an account, signing in via Google or Facebook OAuth, or browsing splitwise.space — you confirm that you are at least 13 years old and have the legal capacity to enter into these Terms.
2.Account Registration & Security
You must provide accurate information during registration and maintain the confidentiality of your credentials. You are responsible for all activities under your account. Notify us immediately at support@splitwise.space of any unauthorised access.
3.Description of Service
SplitWise is a free Smart Expense Management System providing expense tracking, group management, payment settlements, smart reminders with email notifications, PDF/CSV report generation, real-time notifications via SSE, multi-currency support, OAuth login, and a dedicated support ticket system.
4.Prohibited Activities
You may not:
- Use the service for fraud, deception, or illegal activity
- Attempt unauthorised access to other accounts, APIs, or backend systems
- Upload malicious code, viruses, or harmful data
- Scrape, crawl, or harvest data without express permission
- Reverse-engineer or decompile any part of SplitWise
- Abuse the support ticket system or send spam
5.Intellectual Property
All content, design, source code, logos, and trademarks within SplitWise are the exclusive property of SplitWise and its licensors. You may not copy, reproduce, distribute, or create derivative works without prior written consent.
6.User-Generated Content
You retain ownership of the data you enter (expenses, groups, payments). By using the service, you grant SplitWise a limited licence to store and process your data solely to provide the service. We never use your financial data for advertising or profiling.
7.Disclaimer of Warranties
SplitWise is provided on an “as is” and “as available” basis without warranties of any kind — express or implied — including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement.
8.Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, SplitWise shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages — including loss of data or profits — arising from your use of or inability to use the service.
9.Account Termination
We may suspend or terminate your account if you violate these Terms. You may delete your account via the Settings page at any time. Upon termination, your data is permanently deleted within 30 days.
10.Service Availability & Modifications
We strive to maintain SplitWise’s availability 24/7 but do not guarantee uninterrupted access. We may temporarily suspend the service for maintenance or security patches, modify or discontinue features, and impose usage limits to ensure fair access for all users.
11.Governing Law
These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of India. Any disputes arising out of or relating to these Terms shall be resolved through good-faith negotiation or, if necessary, through the competent courts of India.
12.Changes to Terms
We may update these Terms at any time. We will notify you of significant changes by updating the effective date and, where appropriate, via email or in-app notification. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
